In the Room
The stay at borington hall hotel was very good . the building was awsome!!!. The rooms were very good . the eveing meal was very good as well but thought that £12 each for breakfast was a bit to much .
I found all staff very polite and helpful I was visiting my lady friend and I found you hotel on the internet and is is a excellent hotel, and the food was excellent I would stay at this hotel again
Very short stay - arrived late at night and left early morning so unable to comment!
Boringdon hall I thought was set in a lovely location. The hotel was full of charm and character. The food was excellent and the atmosphere in the restaurant was really lovely.
The only thing I found slightly off putting was your wifi signal which even in the bar area was poor and kept dropping out. one last thing is your signing to the hotel is very poor and should be looked at I would suggest that there are signs missing especially as you come off Plymouth Rd over the bridge there is no sign and when you come into the village there is no sign either. Just minor points
didn't dislike hotel but felt it was in serious need of re-furbishment and we have stayed several times before as family nearby
the room was very spacious .the bed comfortable .the breakfast was very large and good quality
tv was limited .we asked for a bucket of ice at reception and it never showed
The staff were very welcoming and the room was spacious and very comfortable. We had my mother with us and she was thrilled with the facilities. We also had breakfast which was delicious and suited all tastes. The setting of the hotel, the wonderful building and sense of history all contributed to a wonderful stay and we wouldn't hesitate to stay there again if down that way.
We loved the medieval history of the house the many original features such as the grand hall and the balcony restaurant. The room was beautiful, four poster bed, stand alone bath with television topped off by a Belguim chocolate selection by the bedside. Just wonderful and very romantic. Very clean. Just excellent.
Remote and quite location with very friendly staff
Rooms around the courtyard are subject to noise from people in garden drinking. Also no spa or leisure facilities.
Very friendly helpful staff throughout, everyone seemed happy to have us as guests so we felt very welcome. Food was very good, lovely building and environment steeped in history, pity we only had a one night stay and arrived late so we had no chance to explore. To take a Devon Cream Tea in the Great Hall was a lovely experience. We only chose the hotel 'pot luck' as it was close to Plymouth and we had an early ferry to France to catch. As it happens we would have been very happy to have had the chance to stay longer.
Decor in rooms/bathrooms was in good order but needs updating and the mattress was not to my wife's liking though it was fine for me. I understand a refurbishement is planned. Would have liked a lot more info on the extensive history of the place.
The restaurant was very good, the food very good. The plates were piping hot. Very good service. This made up for everything else the hotel fell down on. Back ground music a little to "popular", something less intrusive would add to the ambiance of the hotel. reception staff attentive and changed our room as we complained about the toilet facility.
The hotel is in a beautiful setting, although furnishings throughout are somewhat "tired". The accommodation is certainly tired, one corridor smelt damp. In the first bedroom we had the bathroom had broken tiles and mildew on the window frames! The low energy light bulbs look abolutely disgusting in a builing of this age! Hospitality trays in bedrooms are sparse - no biscuits! limited choice of tea/coffee. With attention to detail this hotel would be worth another visit.
The setting and location was really good and the rooms were of a high quality and very large, overall a very good hotel for the price
Slow service in resteraunt
Excellent one night stay. Free wifi, comfortable bed, great shower, friendly staff
All is excellent , just the breakfast too expensive .
The building is magnificent and the rooms were refurbished to a good standard. The staff were all very helpful and friendly and the food in the restaurant was excellent.
The choice of musak was horrible, spoilt the atmosphere, and totally out of place
